However, they can only "hack" visual targets (in other words, one can just hide from them behind some cover). In terms of power, they pose as much threat as infantry with rifles, capable of casting various spells within ~500 meters radius. Level 2 mages form the backbone of magic armies.Level 3 mages are the weakest and usually don't get involved in wars, being employed as farmers, artisans and etc. There is also a type of stealth wizards as well, who specialize in illusion spells, that work like a perception filter.Īll mages can be roughly divided into three levels, according to their power. Simultaneously, they weave protective spells in order to prevent mind possession. When mages fight, they try to "hack" the enemy's brain in order to control or kill them. When it comes to warfare, fantasy-landers almost always resort to illusion and mind control magic. The fantasy civilization is a feudal theocracy, ruled by the most powerful mages. These two civilizations waged war on each other almost immediately. At some point the Veil dissipated, and the two worlds merged into one. One world is populated by WW2 level industrial civilization, the other is a fantasy world, inhabited by powerful wizards. Once upon a time there were two worlds, separated by some kind of dimensional veil. Have fun and feel free to share any thoughts and ideas.Spoiler: Wall of text incoming, TL DR provided. IDK if someone posted this already, but here my findings. Str 17, Dex 8, Con 17, Int 8 (18), Wis 8, Cha 15 (You can swap cha score for Wis or Dex depending on skills, I choose it for persuasion, intimidation and deception checks.)Īrmor: Mage Armor Until you get some Medium armor Here are my recommended starting stats and equipment for the two races. I not a fan of point buy in BG3 but it has it's uses. The Wood elf is fast and dexterous, making for a good bowmen and finesse fighter, while the shield dwarf is slower with armor and strength based weapons. I'm going to recommend my favorite 2, the wood elf and the shield dwarf. Wizards lack proficiency in most every weapon and armors in the game, but with the proper build we can make changes with race options. Where can I find the headband? The Warped Headband of Intellect can be found on a strangely intelligent ogre at the most south-west house in the Blighted Village. (If you are uncertain of my findings just throw the headband on Gale, it should prove my findings.) This means in Early Access, and probably the full game, you are able to drop intelligence on a single Wizard so long as you grab this boi. And well to my surprise the headband ability score change very much works for all Intelligence related abilities. I made a Wizard with an 8 Intelligence score and set out on a journey to take down the ogre three. An intelligence score of 8 means you can only prepare 1 Wizard spell of 1st level at a time and I wasn't so certain the headband would give me back those prepared spells, and so i needed to test it. does this mean you can drop Intelligence in character creation for other fun stats on a Wizard? At first I wasn't sure how functional this would be. So after defeating the great ogre three with my warlock I found the Warped Headband of Intellect and it got me thinking.
